The banking sector in Niger has just expanded with the launch on December 2 of the activities of Coris Bank International, Niger Branch. It was the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Finance in charge of the Budget, Mr. Ahmat Jidoud, who presided over the ceremony in the presence of members of the government, businessmen as well as the representative of Coris Banque International and guests. Coris Bank is now present in seven WAEMU member countries, namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Mali, Togo, and Niger.

In the speech he delivered on this occasion, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Finance in charge of the Budget, Mr. Ahmat Jidoud first recalled that WAEMU gave discharge at the end of October 2018 to Coris Bank International in order to to open a Branch in Niger. With the arrival of this bank, the Nigerien banking system is seen today, testifying once again to the performance and efforts of the Nigerien government to achieve and realize the ambitious projects of the renaissance program. Mr. Jidoud noted that in recent years, Niger has regained its letters of nobility on the sub-regional and international chessboard. Our country, he says, is today a privileged investment destination. « It is therefore an honor for me to be able to reconcile the noble ambitions of economic and social development with the pan-Africanist vision of the Coris Bank International group, thanks to the establishment of the Niger Branch and the official start of the activities of this new institution. financial institution which has the support of the State », declared the Minister Delegate for the Budget.

Ahmat Jidoud also founded the hope that the presence in the banking landscape of Coris Bank International will contribute through its diversified and innovative service offer to improving the banking rate of our populations and therefore their living conditions and to reducing unemployment, by creating jobs for our young people.

For his part, the chairman of the management committee of Coris Bank Branch of Niger, Mr. Nabi Issa Coulibaly stressed that the specificity of the Group, based on a solid base of experience and good knowledge of regional specificity, is presented today. today as the only banking group whose capital is held entirely by UEMOA nationals, very committed to the promotion of intra-UEMOA trade. In addition, he mentioned that the Coris Group includes universal banking business clusters under the Coris Bank International label operating in seven African countries.
